Spanish Fork 5K (3.11 Miles) 00:25:39, Place overall: 5, Place in age division: 1 | |
I ran the Spanish Fork 5K race today. I ran it with my dad and my mom ran the half marathon. My mom told me to run my first mile easy, my second mile medium and my third mile hard. That is what I did. I felt great and I don't think anyone passed me the whole race except for in the first mile and I passed them all back up later. My paces were 8 53, 8 36, 7 29 and the last little bit was at a 6 55 pace. I passed a lot of people the last mile. I felt really good. A boy that was 16 years old tried to keep up with me the last mile but I ended up beating him. This is the fastest 5K I have ever run. My mom couldn't stop screaming when she heard that I was 5th overall for the women. Here is a picture of me after I got my award.  It was also fun to get to see Smooth. I also met Rachelle who is very fast and nice.

XTERRA Trail run 5K (3.1 Miles) 00:36:45, Place overall: 4, Place in age division: 2 | | I ran the XTERRA trail run 5K today with my dad. It was a lot of uphill. I think I need to get some trail shoes because I didn't dare run as fast on the downhill parts. A 14 year old beat me in my division but I still took 4th overall for women. There were 39 women who ran it. I want to run this race again. I really liked it. I also took 27th place out of all the men and women. There were 89 people who ran it total.
